Cotton growing, processing and export
The organization receives Cotton seeds from the Cotton Development Organization on behalf of its members and delivers seeds to the members for planting. Cotton Development Organization is the government body responsible for the development of the cotton industry in Uganda.
The organization provides training on good agronomic practices to its members throughout the period of planting to harvesting of cotton.
When the crop is ready, farmers pick the cotton and deliver it to zonal collecting centres where each member is provided with a delivery receipt. The cotton is then transported to the main store of the organization. At the main store, arrangements for ginning are made. The organization has a ginning licence and enters into a contract for ginning with a local ginnery. Once ginning is complete, cotton is packed in cotton bales of average 191Kgs each ready for dispatch for export. Exports are through the port of Mombasa.

We are proud exporters of premium Ugandan cotton to markets across Africa, Europe, and Asia. Our export operations comply with international trade regulations, and we partner with reputable buyers who value ethical sourcing and sustainable production.
