Briquettes Production

At Rwenzori Farmers Marketing Cooperative Society LTD, we are committed to sustainable solutions that benefit both our communities and the environment. Our Briquettes Production initiative transforms agricultural waste into clean, affordable, and eco-friendly fuel alternatives.

What Are Briquettes?

Briquettes are compressed blocks made from organic waste such as maize husks, coffee husks, sawdust, and other biomass materials. They serve as an efficient, low-cost substitute for charcoal and firewood, reducing deforestation and air pollution.

Our Production Process

We use local agricultural by-products and simple, scalable technology to produce high-quality briquettes suitable for domestic, institutional, and small-scale industrial use.

Key steps in our process include:

  • Collection of agricultural and organic waste
  • Drying and carbonizing raw materials
  • Crushing, mixing, and compressing using briquette machines
  • Packaging and distribution

Why Briquettes Matter

Uganda continues to rely heavily on wood fuel, leading to deforestation and harmful emissions. Our briquette initiative addresses these issues while creating jobs and adding value to farm waste.

Benefits of our briquettes:

  • Long-lasting and high heat output
  • Environmentally friendly
  • Cost-effective for households and schools
  • Made from renewable agricultural waste
  • Helps reduce dependence on charcoal and firewood

Community Impact

  • Job Creation: We train and employ youth and women in briquette production and distribution.
  • Waste Reduction: We give new life to farm waste that would otherwise pollute the environment.
  • Energy Access: We supply briquettes to households, schools, and small businesses that need affordable fuel.
